You are more powerful than you realize. Everything you need is within you. Reiki is a tool to help you unlock your truth and potential.
Reiki is a form of energy healing. The Japanese word Reiki translates to “universal life force energy” and is a gentle technique in which the practitioner uses the energy of Reiki to clear any blockages the client possesses, and amplifies healing in the subtle energy body.
Special focus and attention is given to the 9 major chakras, or energy centers, of the body. These chakras are the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, ears, third eye, crown, and soul/aura.

Reiki is an energy healing practice that promotes balance within the body, mind, and spirit. During a session, clients often report feeling deeply relaxed, grounded, and at ease. How Reiki Can Support You
While Reiki is not a replacement for psychotherapy or medical treatment, it can be a powerful complement to other healing practices are engage in.
Many people find that Reiki helps them access a state of relaxation where emotional healing feels more possible. When the nervous system feels safer and more regulated, it can become easier to process difficult experiences and connect with your inner wisdom.
Reiki invites you to receive. There is nothing to achieve, fix, or perform during a session. You simply rest while your body and nervous system have an opportunity to settle into a state of balance, being held and supported by your practitioner.
After receiving a Reiki transmission, it is imperative that you integrate what was meant to come through in a few ways.
- slow down and pay attention
- journal
- drink water to continue to clear energy from your physical and subtle energy body
- pay attention to your dreams
- engage in other healing activities like breathwork, sound baths, nature walks/Earthing, vagal toning and other ways to support your nervous system
- be gentle with yourself
What is Elise’s Background and Training in Reiki?
I am trained in the Holy Fire III/Ryoho Reiki lineage.
I started my training with Reiki in Spring 2019 with the first level. I practiced for the recommended 6 months at this level, offering Reiki to myself, loved ones, friends and clients. I then continued my training and studied in Fall 2019 in the second level.
I finished my Reiki Master level in Fall 2020, and have continued to deepen my practice as both a practitioner and a teacher.
I hope to offer a Reiki I and II training within the next year. If you are interested in becoming a Reiki practitioner under my guidance, please contact me. The first step will be having a 1-1 session with me, so please book that here from this page.
What Reiki at PORTAL Therapy Is Like
We will start out with a conversational check in, during which we will set an intention for your session, you tell me a bit about the presenting issue, what you’re hoping to clear from your energetic field, any spiritual guidance you’re looking for, and more.
I will offer you a card pull, usually from an oracle deck.
Then, you will lay down on a Reiki table fully clothed and under a blanket if you would like. Dress comfortably, like you’re planning to sit in meditation for an extended period, or even in PJs! The softer and cozier, the better. You will remove your shoes to allow the energy to flow.
I will gently lay my hands on different areas of your body with your consent, or I can use distance Reiki if you prefer not to be touched. This hands-on portion is typically 30-40 minutes.
After the hands-on portion, we will have another check in where I explain what I felt, saw and experienced and you can offer your thoughts, feedback, and ask questions. I will offer suggestions for integration after your session.
