Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started & logistics

Both. We see clients in person at our Richmond office (3536 Grove Ave, Suite B) and virtually across Virginia via HIPAA-compliant teletherapy. Online sessions can happen from your bedroom, office, car or anywhere you feel safe. We’re by appointment only; no walk-ins.

Start with a free 20–30 minute discovery call. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, you can ask us anything, and together we’ll see if we’re a good fit. If we are, we’ll book your first session, a 90-minute intake and assessment. Book your free call by clicking here.

Presently, we work with adults of all backgrounds and identities. Each therapist specializes in different areas; trauma and EMDR, ADHD, couples, families, caregivers and we’ll help match you to the right fit on your discovery call.

Fees & payment

The discovery phone call is free. Here’s the rest, clearly:

ServiceFee
Discovery phone call (20–30 min)Free
Initial intake (90 min)$200
60 min with Elise Kindya, LCSW$150 / session
Monthly package with Elise (4 sessions)$550 / month

Monthly package with a supervisee (4 sessions)$444 / month

Other packages are available, and we’ll walk you through options on your call. (Please confirm current fees with us — they can change.)

We use Square and accept all major credit cards and bank transfer. We also accept HSA/FSA, which can save you money on care.

Occasionally, yes — it depends on current availability. Just ask on your discovery call, and we’ll be honest about what we can offer.

Insurance

We’re private-pay and don’t bill insurance directly. That’s an intentional choice: it keeps your care truly confidential and fully tailored to you — no insurance company dictating your treatment, requiring a diagnosis, or reviewing your records. We accept HSA/FSA and provide superbills (detailed receipts) you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

A superbill is an itemized receipt with the codes your insurance needs for out-of-network reimbursement. Whether (and how much) you’re reimbursed depends on your specific plan — it’s worth calling your insurer to ask about “out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits.” We’re happy to help you understand the process on your call.

What sessions are like

Your first session is a 90-minute intake and assessment. After that, sessions are typically 60 minutes. Frequency is something we’ll decide together based on your goals — many people start weekly and adjust over time.

We won’t promise a magic pill — that wouldn’t be honest. Some weeks you’ll feel motivated, some weeks “over it.” That’s normal. Many therapeutic relationships last for years; ultimately, the length is up to you. What we can promise is a safe space, real expertise, and a partner who’s in it with you.

You’ve tried to heal before, and it hasn’t fully worked — so there has to be a better way. There is. We use an integrative approach tailored to you, including tools like EMDR and neurofeedback that can reach what talk alone sometimes can’t.

Never. Everything we offer is grounded in clinical training and evidence-based practice. We’re spiritual and practical — you take exactly what serves you and leave the rest. Reiki, oracle cards, and energy work are always optional; the clinical care is always the foundation.

Policies

We ask for at least 48 business hours (2 business days) notice to cancel or reschedule, so we can offer the time to someone else. We’ll go over the details before your first session.

Yes. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA, and our teletherapy platforms are HIPAA-compliant. Private-pay care adds an extra layer of confidentiality, since there’s no insurance company reviewing your records. (As with all therapy, there are a few legal limits to confidentiality, like safety concerns — we’ll explain these clearly up front.)

Just for fun

Elise is an Aquarius sun, Scorpio moon, Aquarius rising

Reebha is a Pisces Sun, Aquarius Moon, Libra Rising

— if that means something to you, wonderful; if not, also wonderful. We all contain multitudes.

Usually peppermint, rose, or lavender. The vibe is intentional. Spa vibes, even for the hard conversations.

Still have a question?

The best place to ask it is a free, no-pressure conversation. We’d love to hear what’s on your mind.

Let’s see if we’re a good fit.
