About Remy Marcus
(she/her)

Hi! I’m Remy, the Administrative Assistant at Portal Therapy. I’m originally from Potomac, Maryland (just outside of DC!), but I’ve called Virginia home since attending the University of Mary Washington, where I studied psychology. Over the years, my interest in mental health has only deepened—I truly believe it’s key to living a fulfilling life and building meaningful relationships.

With about five years of experience as a professional organizer, I’ve worked in a variety of spaces—from closets and kitchens to garages, attics, and offices. Pretty much everything you can imagine! One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is how our physical space can impact our mental well-being. This has fueled my passion for supporting people not only in organizing their environment but also in nurturing their mental health.

I’m especially grateful to be part of the PORTAL team because we’ve created a peaceful, calming space where people can begin their journey toward feeling their happiest and most fulfilled. If I can play even a small part in making someone’s day a little easier, I consider it a win. I’m lucky to work alongside such a kind, empathetic group of therapists who truly care about their clients.

My organizational skills, love for keeping a tidy space, and deep compassion for others make me a great fit for my role here at Portal Therapy. I try to make sure every client feels comfortable when they call in and that they feel welcome as soon as they walk through the door.

A fun fact about me: My mom is a veterinarian, so I grew up with a variety of rescue animals—raccoons, deer, pigs, squirrels—you name it! My love for animals is still strong, and I feel a deep connection to them.
I’m also a huge fan of makeup and beauty, having worked in the beauty industry in the past. I love the creative process of transforming with makeup, especially around Halloween when I go all out with full costumes and makeup. Decorating for holidays is another passion of mine—I’m always planning my next seasonal decor theme!

Lastly, I’m queer and proud! I love celebrating Pride year-round and try to attend as many Pride events as I can, especially the parades. You can expect to see me there, decked out in rainbow!
